Thrashing in action 5th Dec 2011: Site Update

23rd Oct 2011: Solitaire in Italy

Well, it's been a while since the last update, but the pics from the Spanish trip are now online at the Photos section.

Also, the band is proud to announce it's first gig ever in Italy. Solitaire will be playing at Pesto Thrash Metal Night part IV in Genova on 12th May 2012. More details on this show and links will follow later.

In addition, there's also a couple of new Finnish shows added to the Gigs page, one at Metal Warning Festival in Helsinki and another one in Pori.

Meanwhile the band is currently writing and rehearsing new material for the next full length Solitaire release.

7th July 2011: Photos and reviews added

The site has been updated with new pictures from various Solitaire shows in Finland this year. Check out the Photos section for these live shots.

Also, there's a couple of new Solitaire reviews available online. Check out Rafabasa.com for a Spanish live report and a gig review from the Pounding Metal Fest show in Madrid this May including photos from Exciter, Chainsaw and all the great bands featured there and also Metal Integral webzine for a review (available in French and English) on the latest Solitaire single "Freefall".

30th Apr 2011: Solitaire videos online!

Here's the latest addition to the site: a new Videos section with two Solitaire music videos from the band's old days and also a previously unreleased live clip from Solitaire's gig in Sweden.

Also, with the Pounding Metal Fest in Spain just about a week away, here's a nice promo clip for the festival to set you all in the "pounding metal" spirit!

As a further update, there's also a new confirmed Solitaire live date in Helsinki added to the Gigs.

23rd Feb 2011: Solitaire in Spain

For the first time ever Solitaire will be travelling to Spain to play a show at Pounding Metal Fest in Madrid on 7th May 2011. The festival is organized by Pounding Metal Union and will be headlined by Canadian Heavy & Speed Metal legend Exciter.

Also the Photos section has been updated with pics from the band's studio trip last September as well as some new official Solitaire promo shots.

6th Feb 2011: New interview online!

Check out the latest Solitaire interview at Inferno.fi website (text available in Finnish only) and find out the band's thoughts on their new "Freefall" single as well as some general Solitaire chit'n'chat.

Also, there's new shows in Tampere and Hyvinkää added to the Gigs section.

14th Dec 2010: Site Update

As you see, we have a new layout here on The Official Solitaire Homepage. The new Solitaire single "Freefall" is out now and the Band section is tuned up with new portraits of the band members plus the updated Solitaire biography.

Also check out some latest Solitaire photos from the band's gig at Helvation Festival in Helsinki at Holy Metal.com webzine.

The Gigs section is also updated with a show in Kokemäki, where Solitaire hits the stage for the first time in 2011.

26th Nov 2010: New 7-inch single from Solitaire

Solitaire will be releasing a brand new single on 1st December via LYOP Records. The single is to be titled FREEFALL and features Streets Of Lightning alongside the title track. The single will be available on 7" vinyl and it's gonna be the first Solitaire vinyl release in the band's 15 year history and also the first one featuring the current rhythm section Lauri on bass and Rippe on drums who both joined the band in early 2009.

24th Sept 2010: Greetings from the studio!

Solitaire has spent the first weekend of September at Musiikkihuone Studios in Pori, Finland with the band's long time studio technician Aki Peltonen to record a bit of brand new material for the next Solitaire release. More news on what the release is going to be and when it's going to come out will follow later after the release plan is put together.

Meanwhile the Photos section has been updated with some new live pics from various gigs Solitaire has played this year.
